Today, one day before the opening ceremony of the National Summer Games St. Gallen 2022, the Grisons Grand Council unanimously approved a commitment credit of CHF 9.5 million for the Special Olympics Word Winter Games Switzerland 2029!
With the commitments already made by the municipalities of Vaz-Obervaz, Arosa and the city of Chur, half of the required public funding of CHF 30 million has now been raised. The applications to the city and canton of Zurich, the federal government and Swiss Olympic, which make up the second half of the amount, are still in the political process. The decision by the canton of Graubünden is one of the most important for the staging of the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Switzerland. We are correspondingly grateful to all the people who have supported it and will continue to do so in the future.
